After seven seasons, 153 games and 35 goals Miguel Gómez is no longer part of the squad of UD Lanzarote. There is no doubt that Miguel has been one of the most exciting players in recent years to wear the Lanzarote shirt however indifferences between Miguel and the club could not be resolved. On Thursday […]
U.D. Lanzarote have organised an excursion over to Fuerteventura to play fourth placed side CD Herbania on Sunday the 31st October at 12 noon. The bus will depart promptly at 06.45 at the stadium in Arrecife and directly to the bus-stop at Biosfera shopping complex in Puerto Del Carmen at 07.00 on Sunday morning. The […]
A goal at the death by Ex Rojillo Alex Yunes and a team with more desire won the first island derby match of the season on Sunday afternoon. I always feel that Lanzarote can never really win a derby match because if they win it is expected and if they lose it is a tragedy. […]
THE ISLANDS AUTHORITIES NOW ALLOW ENTRY TO MATCHES WITHOUT ID OR ASSIGNED SEATS BEGINNING TOMORROW FOR THE DERBY MATCH v U.S. YAIZA. Bit by bit UD Lanzarote are returning to crowd normality. The islands government are not requesting details of each person for trace and tracking purposes which will mean it’s going to be much […]
The Rojillos drop one place to third in the table but remain unbeaten in their last six outings and have reduced the gap to top spot to three points following a defeat for league leaders UD Las Palmas C. Even though Tenerife is one of the big clubs in this league it is not the […]
As many Rojillo fans will now know that it is with deep sadness that we have had to say goodbye to a wonderful man, friend as well as a committed Rojillo fan. John Holsten passed away on Friday 8th October in hospital in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Many regular supporters of UD Lanzarote will […]
This match between two sides challenging for the top positions may have ended in stalemate however it certainly didn’t end without controversy. In the 77th minute the Rojillos were clearly awarded a goal but five minutes later with only the power of memory the officials changed their mind and cancelled out the strike. Prior to […]
The Rojillos came from behind on Saturday afternoon and made it 10 points out of a possible 12 in their last four matches and climb up to second spot in the league table. Last season’s Segunda B (Third Tier) side have been struggling this season and began and ended the day in the final relegation […]
Lanzarote´s next home game has been confirmed for Wednesday 13th October at 8pm versus CD Atlético Paso. Initially this match was scheduled for the day before at noon but due to flight changes because of the volcanic eruptions in La Palma both teams agreed to change to this date. The La Palma side will have […]
Last weekend David Timmons and Brendan Byrne represented UD Lanzarote delivering necessities donated by Rojillo fans and friends to the people of La Palma who have been made homeless or who have been forced to evacuate their homes because of the relentless volcanic eruptions. The two men left Lanzarote on the 10 hour ferry to […]
The Rojillos failed to breakdown a side that clearly had set up tactically to earn a draw. It was a frustrating match for both Lanzarote fans and players but could have ended up much worse had Ruymán not saved a penalty late on for Lanzarote. The Brazilian Alyson seemed to be the only threat to […]
On Monday some directors and fans of UD Lanzarote loaded all your goods into a large van owned by Nathan and Aine who run the Bucket List Bar in Calle Anzuelo in Puerto Del Carmen. The couple will shortly be on their way to La Palma to give these goods and also over 1500 Euros […]
