PREVIEW OF TOMORROWS MATCH VERSUS UD GRAN TARAJAL

The Rojillos are sitting in the final relegation position and are a point from safety with four games to play. Our Fuerteventura opposition are at the other end of the table in third place and are only three points from top spot. To say that tomorrow’s match is important for both sides would be a huge understatement.

Once again we will be doing our online raffle which is one of the few ways the club can raise some much needed cash. There has been no money made from the sales of season tickets, gate sales and the all important canteen.

Our President Juan Carlos Albuixech has again gifted us the first prize of a two night stay with breakfast at his fabulous complex in Costa Teguise, The Sands Beach Resort. It is only 5 Euros a ticket or 5 tickets for 20 Euros and all profits will go directly to the club. Tomorrows match is a derby versus our Fuerteventura neighbours, alone this is enough to inspire motivation however with four ex Rojillo players against us and an ex manager it does add a bit more spice to the match. The game will be streamed live on the YouTube Channel of Lanzarote Deportiva at 12 noon

The Rojillos have been playing two games a week since the restart of the league and no other team has been in this situation. Even though it all began well with 4 wins and a draw inevitably with such a tough run in it couldn’t continue and the last two games have unfortunately ended in defeat.

Ex Rojillo manager and current UD Gran Tarajal manager Maxi Barrera has publicly sympathized with his old club stating that Lanzarote would be at a huge disadvantage with a fixture list which would be challenging and unfair. We appreciate those kind words however one thing we can be certain of is that Maxi and those four ex Rojillo players Josito, Enrique Castaño, Gastón and Juanma will not be showing any sympathy on the pitch come midday tomorrow.

The raffle which will close at the final whistle has raised 315 Euros to date and more contributions will be humbly received. To support the club click on this link https://gofund.me/7d5eb7a6
