San Ginés Tournament 2026 (semi final)

The RFEF 1 (league 1) side showed their fitness to clinch two late goals and will play in the San Ginés final on Saturday at 8pm.

The Bilbao side who play their football two levels above Lanzarote and began training for the season two weeks before the Rojillos showed that level of fitness late on to secure the win.

The opening 15 minutes Lanzarote were put under a lot of pressure but their defence held firm.

In the 23rd minute an excellent cross from Josimar was thumped home by new striker Álvaro Cordero to give the Rojillos a 1-0 lead.

New striker Álvaro Cordero gave Lanzarote a halftime lead with his first goal.

It was an entertaining first half with Lanzarote just about deserving the advantage going into the break.

As the second half developed the visitors began pushing forward, however again, the Rojillo defence held their own.

An excellent crossfield pass by youngster Isaac Morales found Ale Fuentes on the left. The winger flew passed his defender and delivered a delightful cross which was toe poked from an outstretched Román onto the crossbar and away to safety.

Seconds later and typical of football the Bilbao side broke and levelled the score.

It was apparent that the Rojillos were tiring and two minutes from time the visitors snatched the winner.

Tomorrow’s match is Algeciras CF versus CD Átletico Paso at 7pm. The winners will meet Club Getxo in the final on Saturday whilst the losers will meet Lanzarote in the third-place final also on Saturday but at 5.30pm.
