LANZAROTE AWAY IN GRAN CANARIA TOMORROW (Sat 28th March)

Lanzarote will travel to Gran Canaria tomorrow (Saturday 28th) to face UD Las Palmas C at 5pm.

The C team of UD Las Palmas began the season as one of the favourites for promotion but they got off to an awful start losing three of their opening four matches.

Gradually they climbed the league and like Lanzarote were once in the playoff positions but again inconsistency kicked in and they now find themselves in 10th position and two points behind the Rojillos in 7th.

Lanzarote will be boosted from last week’s 2-0 home win, but if they wish to pursue their already slender hopes of a playoff finish, they must find an away win, which is something the Rojillos haven’t done since October.

They are getting closer. In their last away match they were seconds away from a win versus fifth placed side San Mateo but a 97th minute goal kept the hoodoo alive.
