REAL UNIÓN TENERIFE 1 LANZAROTE 0
Lanzarote miss out on the chance to go top of the league at least for a couple of hours as they suffer their third consecutive away defeat.
Whilst Lanzarote improved on their recent away performances, they offered very little threat in their opponents final third.
A penalty for the home side in the 66th minute by Nico gave the home side the lead.
Despite the firepower of Moha, Junior, Fuentes and Nadjib in the second half they all failed in opening up the Tenerife defence.
A good cross from Machín in the 72nd minute across the face of goal with Moha only inches away from an open goal was as good as what it got.
The Rojillos must go back to the drawing board to see how they can begin to earn points away from home.
Lanzarote’s next match is the rearranged fixture from the recent storm and this will be played in Gran Canaria this Wednesday 14th January at 6pm versus UD San Fernando.
Lanzarote are likely to slip at least one position, possibly two over the weekend whilst leaders CD Átletico Paso will be delighted with this result as they have the opportunity to stretch their lead at the top to 5 points later today.
