LANZAROTE AWAY IN GRAN CANARIA TOMORROW Thurs 28th

The Rojillos will travel to Las Palmas tomorrow (Thursday 28th March) to play 5th placed side CF P.P. San Mateo at 12 noon. I am hoping to be at this game so I will update score etc throughout the match.

The Rojillos had their fixture cancelled last week due to a storm as did four other games. One of the four matches that were played was leaders CD Tenerife B and they took full advantage over their three rivals for that one automatic promotion spot by winning 4-2. This now stretches their lead at the top to five points over UD Las Palmas B and Lanzarote who both have that game in hand which is against each other.

Our hosts CF San Mateo have also had a very good season and have been comfortable in fifth position which is the final playoff spot for most of the season, however over their last three games they have had a wobble and only taken one point and are now looking over their shoulder, though they still hold a seven point gap to their nearest challengers for that final playoff spot.

Lanzarote will be without their suspended midfielder Javi Martín and begin the day in third spot. To maintain any sort of pressure on CD Tenerife B they must win, the league leaders will also be in Las Palmas and they will be playing nearby versus 9th placed side Arucas CF at the same time.

A date has yet to be set to play the match which was cancelled versus UD Las Palmas B. It is likely to be a midweek game with a late afternoon kick off. Once this has been confirmed I will post the details.
