LANZAROTE FACE A RELEGATION SCRAP IN TENERIFE ON SUNDAY

The Rojillos travel to Tenerife tomorrow morning (17th April) to face fellow relegation strugglers CD Buzanada at noon.

Any Rojillo fan will know the importance of this match. Due to earlier results Lanzarote have slipped to 13th spot and are just one point and one position above the four automatic relegation places. Even finishing above the relegation zone may not be enough to save Lanzarote from the drop should the five Canarian sides in the league above all get relegated.

With three games remaining the Rojillos must finish in 10th or above to guarantee safety and currently they are two points short of that position with three teams ahead of them.

Five games ago CD Buzanada looked destined to be relegated but taking 12 points out of a possible 15 has seen them move up to 12th spot and given them clear hope of survival. The only match they have lost in those last 5 games was incredibly to the already doomed UD Las Zocas.

Lanzarote have had a struggle with injuries in the whole of this second half campaign and unfortunately this continues. With others out the remainder of the season strikers Di Renzo and Traoré are also extremely doubtful whilst Alyson may be available for some minutes. On a good note a core part of Lanzarote´s outstanding defence this season is Raúl and he is expected to have recovered from his muscle injury which kept him out last week and be part of the 16 man squad.
