The Rojillos have been unlucky in many games this season but on this performance there could be no excuses.
Communication, passing and creativity simply did not turn up and manager Jero Santana and all his players and management are under huge pressure to turn things around.
The setting was perfect. Plenty of holidaymakers came out to watch the Rojillos, their spirits could not have been higher with sun blazing over the stadium and the Christmas weather forecast getting even better. What they were to witness I can only apologise for.

Prior to kick off a minutes silence was held for the 32 year old ex Lanzarote player José Miguel Hernández who died two days previous in a road accident.
The game couldn’t have begun better when in just the fourth minute Miguel Gómez perfectly hit a half volley from 12 yards which flew into the roof of the net to give the Rojillos a nice early 1-0 lead. The feast was to come or so we all thought but football has a strange logic about it.

Lanzarote did press and go searching for that second goal but they found no way through a stubborn defence led by ex Lanzarote player Brad who now lives in Tenerife.
The Rojillos came out for the second half and not for the first time this season had an air of nervousness about them that their opponents sniffed out and began to exploit.
Five minutes into the second half the second from bottom side in the league won the ball against a static Rojillo midfield. From the edge of the box striker Marco Siveiro hit a low shot inches past the left hand post and Lanzarote had received their warning.
The visitors could now smell blood and began to feel that there was definitely a point or even three in this game for them.
Only two minutes later and great work from front man Pirri who split open the Rojillo defence and provided an excellent cross for an easy tap in for midfielder Matias to level at 1-1.
The reaction was Lanzarote could only be described conservatively as extremely poor. The Rojillos brought on Rosmen, Alex Fuentes and Josito but it made little difference as Lanzarote earned their 11th draw out of the 18 games that they have played.

The Rojillos go into the Spanish Christmas break just five points from the relegation positions and next up for them are two difficult away matches with the first one being on Saturday 4th January versus CD Tenerife B.
The next home match is against high flying SD Tenisca with the date yet to be confirmed but it will be on the weekend of 18/19th January.
