LANZAROTE AWAY IN GRAN CANARIA TODAY

After a week completely dominated by the traumatic volcanic eruptions in the Canarian island of La Palma, the Rojillos must now focus on today’s match versus UD Villa Santa Brígida at 5.30pm.

Lanzarote will be without goalkeeper Alejandro who completes his final match of suspension and captain Ayoze Pérez is a doubt as he hasn’t completely shaken off a knock from last week’s match.

The Rojillos will be looking for their second win on the bounce and move up from their current position of 8th whilst the home side are still searching for their first win haven taken two points from their opening three matches and are in 13th spot.

In the past 12 meetings between the two sides in Gran Canaria UD Villa Santa Brígida have won 5 with Lanzarote winning just twice, the other 5 games have ended in stalemate.

Of course it’s impossible not to reflect on the current situation in La Palma and UD Villa Santa Brígida will be sending all gate receipts from today’s game to help the victims of this disaster.

They are also offering a club shirt whilst Lanzarote are also donating one in an open draw for anyone around the world to enter. To lend your support and enter in the raffle please Bizum (0034)690632280 and send a minimum of 2 Euros. Please leave your full name and contact phone number. All proceeds will be heading to La Palma.
