The Rojillos maintain their 100% home record with a convincing victory over CF Estrella with Captain Rosmen bagging two goals and a super assist for the other.

Lanzarote gave the perfect response to their dismal derby defeat last week as they played with flair up front and with steel in defence.

Early on it was the Gran Canarian side that had the opportunity to take the lead when striker Omar Perdomo had a free hit at goal from the edge of the area but his effort went horribly wrong as the ball nearly flew out of the stadium.

The Rojillos took the lead in the 11th minute. A corner by Marcos Cabrera was not dealt with by the Gran Canarian defence and Rosmen quite simply nodded the ball home to give his side a 1-0 lead.

Five minutes later the visitors came close to levelling the score, a good cross in the centre by José Manuel was inches away from being met by his teammate however Rojillos centre back Luis Arráez attempted clearance almost went into his own net.

Rosmen had a couple of headers that came close to increasing the score and midfielder Marcos Cabrera thundered a strike in which came crashing back off the crossbar. The home side were worthy leaders going into the half time break.

The visitors came out strong early in the second half and only a good save from the Lanzarote keeper Agoney prevented the score been levelled from a Ruymán header.

In the 67th minute a good passing move in midfield led to Luis Kennedy receiving the ball on the overlap.  The British winger flew down towards the by-line and produced a perfectly weighted cross to the far post, Rosmen nodded the ball back and storming in was sub Echedey who ended a perfect move blasting the ball home giving his side breathing space by making it 2-0.

This second goal deflated the Gran Canarian side. Lanzarote shut up shop and dealt with all the opposition could throw at them with ease.

To cap a great day for man of the match Rosmen in the 88th minute he received the ball midway in his own half and ran towards goal, the defender backed off worried that he was going to slip the ball through to a team mate but the Lanzarote captain kept going and chipped the ball over the oncoming keeper to seal a 3-0 win.

The Rojillos move up one place to fifth spot, one place from the play offs and two points from league leaders U.S. Yaiza. Lanzarote travel to Tenerife next weekend and face Atlético Victoria.
