LANZAROTE 1 LAS PALMAS B 4, 6th August 2018,
The Rojillos were shown no mercy in the first half of the San Gínes 50th tournament.
Within the first five minutes Lanzarote were 0-2 down and in total disarray. The B side of Las Palmas are three weeks into their pre season campaign whereas Lanzarote had only just began their second week and this sharpness from the Las Palmas side was hugely noticeable.
On the half hour it was 0-3 and in the 38th minute the side a league up from Lanzarote in the Segunda B (third tier) showed their dominance and were cruising 0-4.
A good move from Lanzarote in the 41st minute with strike duo Alex Yunes and Alex Cruz combining well enabled the latter to blast home from eight yards to make the score 1-4 at half time giving the crowd something to cheer about.
Rojillos manager Maxi Barrera made six immediate changes for the start of the second half including bringing on captain Ayoze Pérez, Dani García and the impressive Miguel Gómez.
Lanzarote steadied the ship and were worthy of a second half 0-0 draw against a very well organised Las Palmas team.
