NEW SIGNINGS, FAREWELLS AND GENERAL INFO

The club is working hard behind the scenes for the start of the new season which will begin in the first week of September. As usual fixtures aren’t released as of yet but are expected to come out by the end of July.

After a season playing away from home in Tías UD Lanzarote will be returning to their natural home at Ciudad Deportiva in Arrecife and training will begin on Monday July 28th on the new up to date astro surface.

On Saturday August 30th the players have once again organised a Bingo evening at the same venue as last year at the Soceidad in Los Valles (just past Teguise). This proved to be an incredible evening and once again Louise has offered to be the translator. Buses will run from Puerto Del Carmen, Costa Teguise and Arrecife at the ridicously low price of 4 Euros return. Details on how to book will be published later but put it in the diary.

SIGNINGS

LISANDRO LEE (new signing)

The left footed 22 year old becomes the clubs sixth new signing. Playing as a wing back Lisandro featured as a starter in almost all of the matches under Diego Maradona Junior for UD Ibarra last season, helping the club to reach the playoffs. The attacking wing back possesses a great touch and has great crossing ability.

ADRIÁN MACHÍN (renewed)

Any regular supporters of the Rojillos will be delighted to see Machín has put pen to paper and will eager be anticipating him terrorizing the oppositions defence. In the 2023/24 season the now 26 year old came close to leaving the club with his lack of opportunity. He decided to stay and with a change of manager shined in the second half of the season and won the “Nina Gil” Player of the Season trophy. Last season he scored 12 goals and the fans voted him second best player to Raúl.

AGONEY RODRÍGUEZ (renewed)

The 2025/26 campaign will be the third season for the calm natured centre back and second in succession. During this spell the 22 year old has had limited opportunities but has gained a wealth of experience. He has been patient and ever available knowing that soon his time will come.

NAMI SÁNCHEZ (new signing)

The Tenerife striker is returning to the Canary Islands after having two very successful seasons in Italy scoring a total of 33 goals. At 29 years of age and also with plenty of experience in this category culminating in achieving promotion to RFEF 2 (Fourth Tier) with CD Marino, it may prove to be a wonderful signing.

AMADOU TRAORÉ (new signing)

The 21 year old Ivory Coast attacking midfielder has become the eighth and latest signing for the club. The youngster has arrived from the Spanish mainland playing in the same category and was involved in 22 matches last season but played only 780 minutes. He made the most of those minutes by scoring seven goals which is a return of a goal every 111 minutes.

All of these new signings and renewals will join their new manager Ángel López and the following team mates for the forthcoming campaign:

Midfielder Miguel Gopar, centre back Mario Roman, winger Loukou Succes, striker Junior, centre back Raúl Fernández, winger Ale Fuentes, keepers Alejandro and Ruymán, defender Alex Cruz, midfielders Javi Martín, Dani González,  Isaac Morales and winger Nadjib.

FAREWELLS

With eight new signings the club has to say goodbye to eight of their players. For various reasons these players have left the club:  defenders Oli, Dani Febles, Sergio Beberide, Javi Mayor and Josimar, midfielder Matías Sosa, strikers Iván Hujo and Álvaro Iglesias. I am sure on behalf of all Rojillo fans we wish to thank these players for their service to the club and wish them nothing but the best for the future in whichever route they have chosen.
