LANZAROTE 5   UD TAMARACEITE   0

What a performance! Two goals each from Nami and Ale Fuentes and one from Moha see the Rojillos move up to second spot and just two points behind leaders CD Átletico Paso.

Lanzarote’s manager Ángel López made his intentions known from the outset as he played an attacking formation and with three at the back and a mindset to be first on the score sheet.

Goalscorers Nami (2), Moha and Ale Fuentes (2)

In what was Lanzarote’s best first half performance of the season goals from Moha and two from Nami gave the Rojillos a fully deserved 3-0 halftime lead.

The third placed side fought back early in the second half but with Rojillos keeper Ruyman determined to keep a clean sheet they didn’t stand a chance.

The Rojillos manager couldn’t have timed his substitutions better. Winger Nadjib returning after six weeks on the sidelines not only improves his sides attacking prowess but his infectious smile and incredible attitude are equal to his attributes and it was wonderful to see him back on the pitch.

Another player gaining more minutes after injury was Ale Fuentes and he now looks as though he’s back to his sizzling best scoring the final two goals in what was a outstanding display from players, management and fans.

This has proved to be an exceptional weekend for Lanzarote as teams around them all dropped points. The Rojillos now go into the Christmas break in the knowledge that automatic promotion is in their own hands.

Lanzarote’s next match is at home in the local derby versus a hugely improved San Bartolomé CF and is confirmed for the 4th January at 11am.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.
