LANZAROTE IN SAN GINÉS FINAL TONIGHT – FREE ENTRANCE

UD Lanzarote will meet RFEF 2 (Fourth Tier) side Xerez CD in the final of the San Ginés tournament tonight (Friday 29th Aug) at 8pm at Ciudad Deportiva in Arrecife. Entrance is free of charge and refreshments are available. Please support the club raffle (1 Euro ticket or 6 for 5 Euros).

Fifth tier (RFEF 3) Lanzarote put in a super performance on Wednesday evening when they beat fourth tier side UD S.S. de los Reyes 4-3 on penalties after the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Xerez CD also progressed to the final via penalties after beat CD Tenerife B following a goalless encounter.

Tonight will be an enormous test for the Rojillos as they face a club with a ground capacity of 20,000 and over 5000 season ticket holders, something only Lanzarote can dream about. Only 15 years ago Xerez CD were competing in Spain’s Primera Liga and tonight you can be assured of a competitive match as both sides begin their league campaigns in just over a week’s time.

The Third place final between UD S.S. Reyes v CD Tenerife B will also be played this evening kicking off at 5.45pm
