LET IT BEGIN: KICK OFF TOMORROW SUNDAY 10th Sep at 11am IN ARRECIFE

Rojillos manager and ex River Plate and Osasuna star Leonel “Pipa” Gancedo will lead his troops out for the first time in this season’s opening match tomorrow (Sunday 10^th) at home in Arrecife at 11am to face newly promoted UD Teror Balompié. Doors open at 10am.

Everyone is welcome. Simply turn up and pay on the gate, Adults 10 Euros (Residents 7 Euros) Pensioners 8 Euros (Residents 5 Euros) and all children Under 16 years of age are admitted free of charge. From Puerto Del Carmen or Costa Teguise the number 3 bus leaves and returns every half hour and it drops you 100m from the stadium.

An old friend of the UD Lanzarote manager Pipa will be a special guest tomorrow, none other than Javier Saviola. The brilliant ex River Plate and Barcelona star will be there supporting the Rojillos. The Argentine wizard began his career with River at 16 years of age, then in 2001 and at a tender age of 19 Barcelona paid 36 million Euros for the striker. Saviola went on to make 123 appearances for Barcelona scoring 49 goals.

Don’t forget to buy a raffle ticket as you enter in. They are still just 1 Euro or 6 tickets for 5 Euros and we have 5 prizes. This season we have a great blend of plenty of experienced local lads along with many talented young Argentinean  players. Last season’s Player of the Year and also the league´s top scorer Gonzalo Di Renzo is firing to go and hoping to pick up his first goals of the campaign. Those of you who haven’t picked up their season ticket yet, they will be available from Davinia at the ticket office which opens at 10am as do the gates. Outside, myself, David or Brendan should also have them available. Adult season ticket 75 Euros, Pensioners 50 Euros. Membership to the club also available.
