PRESENTATION OF UD LANZAROTE´S SQUAD 2023/24

On Wednesday 16^th August UD Lanzarote unveiled their playing squad and coaching staff at the stunning Monumento al Campensino in San Bartolomé.

Fans, players, sponsors as well as Town Hall and Cabildo representatives were all gathered in this stunning venue which was opened with a greeting from UD Lanzarote President Juan Carlos Albuixech.

Club directors Fabián Bustos and Pablo Leva shared their vision and marketing strategy whilst everyone was enjoying the complimentary wine and amazing food. Vice President of the Cabildo Jacobo Medina and Cabildo´s sports councillor Juan Monzón spoke briefly understanding the importance of UD Lanzarote and the necessity to resurface the artificial pitch at Ciudad Deportiva.

Teguise Ayuntamiento (Town Hall) have kindly allowed UD Lanzarote to use their new sporting facilities in Costa Teguise for this season and in attendance was the Teguise sports minister Alejandro Ramírez alongside Arrecife´s sports minister Juanjo López. Representing the Football Federation of Las Palmas was Lourdes Aparicio.

The campaign for the season tickets and membership followed led by a video sung by the young César Saavedra which carries the motto  “La pasión que nos une” (The passion that unites us).

The highlight of the evening was the introduction of the players and management. Each player and technical staff member received a big round of applause whilst club captain Ayoze Pérez and manager Leonel “Pipa” Gancedo both gave brief speeches outlining that the club understands the desire of the fans to a return to Segunda B (Fourth Tier) and they will do all they can to compete for promotion in what Pipa believes will be an exciting season.

Our own club secretary Davina Páez is not only brilliant with all the clerical work and running the club but she is also a fantastic singer. Davinia closed the event singing the song “Color Esperanza” in which all the players joined in and led to a terrific ending to an amazing evening.
