THE SEASON PLANNED TO BEGIN ON 18th OCTOBER
The season is due to begin on the 18th October and the league will be split into two groups.
The club has not yet started selling season tickets for the obvious reasons of not knowing a start date and also how many teams will be in our group. More than likely there will be 10 or 11 teams in each group and this will determine the price of the season ticket. To join the club as a Socio (a member) will be promoted very soon offering discounts on merchandise etc.
Personally I am not of fan of having two groups but I certainly understand the reasoning for this. The only thing that can be predicted in this strange world we live in is unpredictability though I truly believe that come October we will be kicking off the season and we will be there to watch it.
Unfortunately the squads return to training had to be cancelled with the latest restrictions but this will be reviewed once again in a week’s time.
Whilst Lanzarote´s Covid count of 425 people out of a population of just over 150,000 with the virus is extremely high, it is certainly not doom and gloom as only 10 are being treated in hospital with one in intensive care. It’s very difficult to understand the figures as not as many places test as much as what the Canaries have done so we are likely to have more.
One thing is absolutely certain and that is everyone on this island must do the best they can to bring this figure down as no matter what your opinion is, the British, Irish and German Governments amongst others will not relinquish their 14 day quarantine rule for returning tourists until our figures drop dramatically.
