5th October 2014
The Rojillos poor away form continues with just two points taken from their opening four matches in contrast to their 100% home record.
The game could not have began any better for Lanzarote with a cross come shot from leading scorer Rosmen sending his side into a 1-0 lead in the opening minute.
Unfortunately for the Rojillos it took just four minutes for the Tenerife side to level matters. The referee ordered a spot kick for a handball by a Lanzarote defender. Midfielder Joseph stroked it home to make the score 1-1.
Both sides had good chances to take the lead as the game was played in an open manner. Christian just failed to get on the end of a cross for the home side and Mauri went close from a header for the Rojillos , just before the break Lanzarote defender Luis hit the post with a header following a corner.
In the first minute of the second half things looked good for Lanzarote as the home side were reduced to 10 men as defender Ramses picked up his second yellow card.
The Tenerife side adapted well and in the 57th minute they were awarded a free kick. Midfielder David swung the ball in through a host of players and the ball somewhat fortuitously ended up in the back of the net giving Atlético Victoria a 2-1 lead.
Lanzarote completely dominated play but the home side parked the bus in front of their goal and the Rojillos could not find a way through. In the dying seconds Kennedy hit the bar from a Rosmen free kick but the Tenerife side hung on and claimed all three points.
The Rojillos slip two places to seventh spot but will have the chance to improve on this when they face CD Santa Úrsula at home this Sunday 12th Oct at 12 noon.
