ARUCAS CF  1   LANZAROTE   4

The Rojillos clinical finishing has not only made them the league’s top scorers they are now also just two points away from a playoff spot.

It was a crazy opening 11 minutes when every time Lanzarote went forward it looked as though they would score and more often than not they did.

Di Renzo made it 0-1 with a finish that you would expect from the division’s best striker. Keita and Traoré joined the party to all but end the match with three goals without reply in the opening 11 minutes.

Just after the hour Fabricio made it 0-4 with a strike from 20 yards clipping the crossbar and keeper before crossing the line.

Captain Ayoze Pérez came close and Di Renzo hit a brilliant strike from 20 yards that rattled the crossbar.

In total manager Mateo García made five changes in order to rest some players and give others a run. This did upset the style of play and in the 83rd minute the Gran Canarian side pulled a goal back to make it 1-4.

Late on Lanzarote had a chance to restore their four goal cushion when Machín had his penalty saved following a foul on midfielder Kilian.

This is what a 1-4 away win looks like.

The Rojillos move up to 6th spot though it may only be briefly as UD Las Palmas B play later on this weekend.

Whatever happens by the end of this weeks matches Lanzarote will just be two points short of the playoff positions.

Next Sunday Lanzarote are at home at 12 noon versus UD Gran Tarajal
