UD LAS ZOCAS   0   LANZAROTE   0

The Rojillos had a fabulous opportunity to rejoin the chase for a playoff finish but just a single point against the league´s bottom club leaves them five points adrift with four matches remaining.

The lack of firepower was once again evident with strikers Alyson and Traore still absent through injury. Defensively Lanzarote have been outstanding this season conceding the fewest amount of goals than any other club in the league, however only the two bottom teams have scored less than the Rojillos which may cost them the opportunity to finish in a playoff position.

During this match the Rojillos had plenty of chances to have a healthy halftime lead but chances from Keita, Ayoze Pérez and Di Renzo were not converted. Lanzarote also dominated the second period striking the woodwork on two occasions but just couldn’t find a way through.

Lanzarote are in 8th spot and it is probably too much of an ask to claw back five points to finish in 5th though possibly 6th position might suffice as league leaders UD Las Palmas C cannot be promoted due to their B team playing in the league above. Lanzarote are still three points short of that 6th spot and have played a game more so dropping points today will make the task even more challenging.

Next Sunday 10th April at 12 noon Lanzarote are at home versus 13th placed side CD Vera.
