LANZAROTE TRAVEL TO TENERIFE TOMORROW
The Rojillos face bottom club UD Las Zocas in Tenerife on Sunday 3rd April at a 12 noon kick off.
The only side in the league already relegated only have pride to play for. The hosts have been the whipping boys of this league and have won on just three occasions however there last win was their last home match where they beat an in form CD Buzanada.
This will not be an easy ride for Lanzarote but with some players returning from injury it is a match where they have a great chance to claim all three points and put them back in the race for a playoff finish as well as distance themselves from any relegation worries. In the past it has not been a happy hunting ground for Lanzarote having won just twice in the past ten occasions, the last of which was eight years ago.
Unfortunately Thioub (photo on left) will miss the rest of the season. The Senegalese midfielder picked up an injury to his left knee on the 12th February in his side’s 1-0 win versus CD Marino. Initial scans showed that it was a ligament strain but further scans revealed that he is suffering with a fracture of the meniscus. It is yet not certain whether he will need an operation but on behalf of all Lanzarote fans we wish Thioub a speedy recovery.
