THE ROJILLOS BEGIN SEASON 2026/27
UD Lanzarote began their first training session of the new season on Monday evening with a mix of old, new, some of the B team and a few trialists.
Club General manager César Saavedra welcomed all the players in the absence of president Juan Carlos Albuixech. This was followed by a delegate from the islands government Pedro Viera who expressed his best wishes to the players for the season ahead.

New club manager Juan Antonio Machín had the final word as he urged his players to give their all and the aim must be to finish the season as high up the table as possible.
It was a light training session to begin with but then all players lined up to run the width of the pitch and continually return until there was only one man standing. 21 year old midfielder Isaac Morales showed his strength and endurance and was the final man running.
There were plenty of laughs and the atmosphere with everyone in attendance couldn’t have been better.
Many of the players that evening heard the news and sent get well messages to club director David Timmons who suffered a mild stroke on Saturday. The good news is David is in good spirits and currently in hospital in Arrecife already having physio and beginning his recovery.
I am sure that on behalf of everyone at the club, both players and supporters that we wish David a full and speedy recovery.
