LANZAROTE AWAY IN GRAN CANARIA TOMORROW (Sat 14th March)

Lanzarote will travel to Gran Canaria tomorrow (Saturday 14th) to face CF P.P. San Mateo with kick off at 12 noon.

The hosts are in terrific form, winning their last four matches to climb into fifth place in the table — the final playoff spot.

The Rojillos, meanwhile, have slipped down the league and now sit exactly mid-table, a long way off the playoff positions.

Sixth place could also potentially secure a playoff spot. This would depend on whether CD Tenerife B gain promotion from the division above, as their C team would not be allowed to compete in the same division as their B team.

At present, Lanzarote trail sixth place by eight points. Manager Ángel López will be demanding pride and professionalism from his players as they look to end their poor run of form.

The standout fixture of the weekend takes place on Sunday, when second-placed UD San Fernando host league leaders CD Atlético Paso. A win for San Fernando would see them leapfrog their rivals into the league’s only automatic promotion spot.
