The points were once again shared in the local, Lanzarote rattled the woodwork on countless occasions but couldn’t find a way through.

The first half was fairly even but five minutes before the interval midfielder Pablo Kawecki was put through the middle with just the keeper to beat. He dinked the ball over the keeper but the ball rolled inches wide of the right-hand post.

Early in the second half Yaiza tested the Rojillos keeper with a long-distance strike but that was about as good as it got for the Verdinegros.

Lanzarote dominated the final half hour. In the 70th minute Machín turned his defender superbly in the box but somehow placed his shot horribly wide.

Miguel Gopar had an outstanding match and in the 75th minute he let rip from 20 yards but the Yaiza keeper produced an excellent save tipping the ball onto the woodwork. Nami followed up but his effort went wide.

Yeray Tavio was introduced and he attacked the Yaiza right wing with some wonderful pace and skill. The youngster then struck from 20 yards and his effort rocketed off the crossbar and the rebound fell to Nami and once again the crossbar saved Yaiza.

It was certainly disappointing to only earn a point but it was a much-improved display from the Rojillos.

Next week Lanzarote travel to Gran Canaria and face CF P.P.San Mateo.
