LANZAROTE 2 CF P.P. SAN MATEO 1
Wow!!! The game was fizzling away and just as I was saying we haven’t had a good attempt at goal in the second half Nami (main photo) bangs one in the top corner from 20 yards in added on time.
Lanzarote started off the better side and inside two minutes Machín had a super opportunity but his effort from eight yards narrowly went over the crossbar.

A good crowd of around 1000 on a scorching November day were there to witness Nami´s cracker.and Lanzarote´s fifth home win on the bounce.
The Gran Canarian side then stunned the home fans in the 9th minute when a shot went through a host of players and into the net.
The Rojillos then played some of their best football seen this season but were met by a formidable San Mateo defence.
The visitors were chasing shadows but remained firm, that is until a minute before halftime.
Once again Lanzarote’s captain and last season’s player of the year Raúl out climbed everyone from a corner kick and powerfully headed the ball into the top corner to level at 1-1 at the interval.

Raúl celebrating his goal to level the score just before the break.
It seemed Lanzarote were in for the kill in the second half judging by their first half performance but that goes to show how much I know about football.
The visitors rallied and it was Lanzarote chasing shadows. It was refreshing and unexpected to see a team refuse to sit back and settle for a draw. They wanted a win!
A special mention for Rojillos midfielder Miguel Gopar who was simply outstanding today in both halves. He prevented so many San Mateo attacks and was always first to create chances. A big man of the match performance along with his captain.
A point apiece looked to be the final outcome but from out of nowhere Nami produced his magic and earned his side the full three points keeping them top of the league.
Next Saturday 8th November Lanzarote travel to Las Palmas to take on UD Villa Santa Brígida at 12.30pm.
