UD LANZAROTE BEGIN TRAINING FOR SEASON 2025/26
After one whole season playing in Tías and training wherever available the Rojillos finally return to their home in Arrecife at Ciudad Deportiva.
On Monday evening new manager Ángel López greeted all his players with the exception of new signing Nami who joins the squad this evening.
Club President Juan Carlos Albuixech and General Manager César Saavedra both gave introductory speeches welcoming the squad as did the Islands Sports Minister Juan Monzón who commented on how exciting it’s going to be to play in front of the best supported club in the league.
Joining the training session were several trialists whose aim is to impress the 44 year old manager over the next few weeks with the view of earning a contract.
Team manager Ángel López will have José Manuel Sánchez as his second coach and Santi Montesdeoca as assistant. The physical trainer is Alberto Doblas, Pedro García will be the goalkeeper coach and Pedro Álvarez the physiotherapist. Rafael Yantorno is the masseur, Clemente García is material manager, Juan Jesús Rodríguez as props and Juan Andrés Martín as club delegate will also be on the technical staff.
Five weeks of preparation lay ahead before the first league game that begins on September 7th. Fixtures are expected to be released anytime now and as soon as they are I will publish them.
UD Lanzarote will be involved in four preseason tournaments (8 matches) with the first being the San Ginés. The Arrecife Ayuntamiento organise this tournament and have yet to release all the details but the tournament will take place late next week.
The next tournament is in Puerto Del Carmen between 14-16 August followed by Tinajo and ending with Yaiza. All details of these tournaments will be published over the next week.
There was a great feeling in the air last night with all the management, players, directors and President delighted to be at the clubs rightful home.
Season tickets and membership will be available within the next week and details of this will be announced shortly.
