WE BELIEVE IN MIRACLES

Tonight at 8pm fifth tier Lanzarote take on second tier Real Racing Club de Santander at the stadium in Tías.

Our opponents have been in devastating form and have become the talk of Spain after opening up an 8 point lead at the top of the Segunda A (Championship) with a style of play more associated with a La Liga side.

We might console ourselves by having the advantage of playing at home, however, in Racing´s five away matches this season  they have taken maximum points including wins against Real Zaragoza, Cadiz and most recently Deportiva La Coruña. They seem to travel well!

Racing has only travelled with four reserve team players amongst the first team squad. Their depth in squad is immense and their bench will be packed with talent. Racing’s top priority this season is undoubtedly promotion to “The Promised Land” of La Liga and every one of their players will want to be part of that journey.

UD Lanzarote has a mammoth task in front of them and in all honesty most fans are hoping to avoid a pummelling and just want their players to give a good account of themselves, however Lanzarote has a wonderful history in the Copa del Rey with wins against Primera Liga sides Athletic Bilbao, Mallorca and Tenerife with narrow defeats to Real Madrid, Sevilla and Atlético Madrid.

If the Rojillos are going to pull off another miracle one thing is certain is that they will need every one of their fans applauding every good pass, every tackle in every moment of the game. The match ends tonight whether its after 90 minutes, extra time or penalties.

The fan club Trifulka will be in force and they will be singing nonstop throughout the match. If you don’t know the words hum them or clap. Let’s all be part of UD Lanzarote´s history.

Vamos Zarote!!!!
