CD HERBANIA   1   LANZAROTE   1

The Rojillos took the lead in the 79th minute through sub Àlvaro Iglesias but could only hold onto the lead for four minutes.

The first half was even with Machín and Nadjib the main threats for Lanzarote.

The breakthrough came 11 minutes before the end with a great through ball from Dani Gonzalez who only started as Matías Sosa was injured in the warm up and sub Álvaro Iglesias battled his way past the defender and struck the ball which ricocheted off the keeper into the goal.

Unfortunately sloppy play in the 83rd minute allowed a strike from the edge of the box to nestle into the bottom right hand corner and it was level at 1-1.

Defender Dani Febles picked up his second yellow card in the 87th minute and the Rojillos were forced to play the final 10 minutes including added on time with 10 men.

Both sides had opportunities to win all three points but a draw was a fair result.

Lanzarote remain in fourth but that could change tomorrow. Next Sunday 6th October Lanzarote are at home at 12 noon and face one of the league’s biggest and best sides UD Las Palmas B.
