LANZAROTE   4   CD MARINO   0

The Rojillos cruised to victory against the Tenerife side though remain in fourth spot but have closed the gap to third place to a single point.

Lanzarote had difficulties breaking down the Marino defence but two minutes before halftime striker Jorge Canillas struck low from the edge of the area and sent his side into the interval with a 1-0 advantage.

It was a totally dominant second half. Rojillos goalkeeper Alejandro was celebrating his birthday but the only thing that he had the opportunity of catching was a suntan as the visitors offered very little.

Adrián Machín showed off his skill in the 63rd minute as he rolled the ball onto his other foot then belted home from 15 yards with the ball settling into the top left hand corner of the net to make it 2-0.

Adrián Machín milking the crowd after his superb goal.

Ten minutes later and Ayoze Pérez had a strike from 10 yards saved though the ball rolled into the path of Santi Rosa who fired home from close range for 3-0.

In the 84th minute Santi Rosa returned the favour to his captain as he set him up nicely from the byline and Ayoze Pérez placed his shot low into the left hand corner to give his side a comfortable 4-0 win.

League leaders CD Tenerife B also won with ease as they smashed four goals past CD Buzanada without reply to maintain their three point lead at the top. Second placed U.S. Yaiza slipped to third following a 1-0 away defeat to local side CF San Bartolomé whilst UD Las Palmas B beat Arucas CF 2-0 to leapfrog Yaiza into second.

Lanzarote are still five points off the league leaders with four matches to play. Next Saturday 27th April Lanzarote travel to the South of Tenerife and face relegation threatened CD Buzanada followed by a home match on Bank Holiday Wednesday May 1st versus CD Herbania.
