LANZAROTE AWAY IN GRAN CANARIA TOMORROW (Sat 16th)

The Rojillos travel to Las Palmas tomorrow (Saturday 16th) and face 8th placed side UD Villa Santa Brígida at a 12 noon kick off.

Lanzarote are in 4th spot level on points with third placed UD Las Palmas B and five points off league leaders CD Tenerife B. The Rojillos will be without their in form winger Adrián Machín and midfielder Leo Pierce as they both serve a one match ban for the accumulation of five yellow cards.

Keeper Alejandro is also out serving his last of his two game suspension and Alex Cruz is out for at least five weeks with a cartilage injury. Centre back Chucky Pierce should be available after shaking off the knock that he picked up in last week’s match.

UD Villa Santa Brígida will be confident following their excellent 1-1 away draw to CD Tenerife B last week and a 3-0 home win the previous week.

It has always been a difficult place to go for Lanzarote. Last season ended 1-1 but fresh in the minds will be the 1-0 playoff defeat Lanzarote suffered there last May.

This season in Arrecife it also ended stalemate but Lanzarote will be desperate for maximum points on Saturday to close the gap at the top to two points before UD Las Palmas B play CD Tenerife B on the Sunday. If Las Palmas B wins this tasty encounter it really would open up the title race.

I should be at this game tomorrow so I will post updates during the match.
