What a day it turned out to be for the Rojillos. CD Tenerife B dropping two points at home reduces the gap at the top to just two points.

Lanzarote were dominant in the first half but just couldn’t break down the stubborn Tenerife defence.

A penalty was awarded to the Rojillos in the 58th minute. Santi Rosa saw his spot kick saved but fortune favored the Rojillos striker as the rebound came straight back to him and he made no mistake thrashing the ball into the net to give his side a 1-0 lead.

Five Minutes later and the in form Adrian Machín turned his defender and fired into the top left corner to double the lead.

A defensive error in the 28 degrees heat allowed the Tenerife side back into the match in the 73rd minute.

Sub Ismael Traoré restored the Rojillos two goal cushion in the 90th minute as he waltzed through the Tenerife defence and planted the ball low into the bottom right hand corner to win the match 3-1.

This third goal moved Lanzarote above Yaiza into second spot on goals scored and to within two points of league leaders CD Tenerife B who play Lanzarote in Arrecife in two weeks time.
