LANZAROTE AT HOME THIS SUNDAY (14th Jan) at 12 NOON

The Rojillos are playing at home this Sunday 14th January at 12 noon versus 7th placed side UD Tamaraceite. Pay at the gate and doors open at 11am. To save any queues on match day, tickets are also available from our shop in Costa Teguise at CC Nautical, Local 25.

Lanzarote will want to return to winning ways after last Sundays 2-1 defeat in Fuerteventura. Last season around this time Lanzarote were playing well and in fifth spot but four defeats on the bounce and it looked as though all hopes of a playoff finish had been squashed, however a strong end to the season and the Rojillos finished up in second spot.

The club will want that strong finish but are keen to avoid those four consecutive defeats and with a positive vociferous crowd  behind the team we will all hope for a finish one place higher than last season come May 12th.

The Gran Canarian club have a very good side and always finish the season in a high position. They have two veteran ex UD Las Palmas stars in their ranks, central midfielder  David González (number 10) who is now 42 years of age and centre back David García (number 5) who will also be 42 years of age next month and is known as the eternal captain of UD Las Palmas after spending 14 seasons with the club. Do not let their age fool you, it’s unusual to see any player cover more ground during the match than David Gonzalez. They ooze class.

David García shown here being presented with a memento to celebrate 400 matches with UD Las Palmas.

Lanzarote has still a whopping 19 matches left until the end of the season with 10 of those games at home. The club has reduced the cost of the season ticket to: Adults 55 Euros and Pensioners 40 Euros. These are available from our shop in Costa Teguise and at the ticket booth on match day.
