UD LAS PALMAS B   1   LANZAROTE   1

The Rojillos come from behind to level late on and earn a priceless point to remain in third position, three points from top.

The league leaders took the lead in the 17th minute and were on course for their seventh successive win. Lanzarote played a great second half and Ismael Traoré (photo) scored in the 87th minute to keep the unbeaten run going.

Lanzarote were without their top marksman Di Renzo due to suspension but he will be ready for next week. Unfortunately Raúl received a red card at the end of the match and is likely to be suspended for next Sunday’s home game.

It really was so important not to lose today as Las Palmas would have extended their lead against the Rojillos to six points whereby now Lanzarote are within touching distance.

It certainly was a great weekend for the three Lanzarote sides in this division. Yaiza drew away to maintain their unbeaten start to the season and are in fourth, in fact the only two unbeaten sides in the league are Lanzarote and Yaiza.

One of the great results this weekend is the away 0-1 win for local club San Bartolomé CF. This is their first win of the season after nine attempts and it lifts them off the bottom of the table and they are only a point from safety. Congratulations to the Batateros (Sweet potato farmers).
