CF UNIÓN VIERA   0   LANZAROTE   0,             3rd April 2016,

Lanzarote´s defence has improved all season and in their last 10 away matches they have just conceded three goals though the Rojillos have not won away in seven matches.

Fellow Lanzarote team Yaiza did their neighbours a big favour as they were losing 0-1 at half time to the league leaders but levelled in the 72nd minute to prevent Santa Brígida claiming all three points.

Third placed side Las Palmas B narrowly won 1-0 at home to lowly CF Unión Puerto so are level on points with Lanzarote and there is just a single point separating the top three sides. Next Sunday Lanzarote host 7th placed side UD Telde whilst the huge game is Santa Brígida versus Las Palmas B.

Making his debut for Lanzarote was goalkeeper Ruyman as regular keeper Agoney sat on the bench recovering from his bout of flu.

It was the Gran Canarian side who looked the more dangerous in the first half with three good opportunities whilst late on in the half Rosmen came close to giving Lanzarote the lead against the run of play.

Unión Viera also began the second half looking the more dangerous side though as has happened time and time again this season the Rojillos soak up the pressure and become stronger late on.

In the 82nd minute the home side were reduced to 10 men after a sending off and Lanzarote had several chances to clinch the win which would have returned them to top spot.

The next home game is this Sunday 10th April at 12 noon versus UD Telde where Lanzarote will be hoping to make it 38 home matches unbeaten and possibly returning to the top of the league.
