After an excellent first half Lanzarote press the self-destruct button and see their faint hopes of a playoff finish diminish with every game.

The Rojillos dominated the first half and had several chances to take the lead before Javi Martín blasted them in front in the 32nd minute with a cracking volley from the edge of the box.

Lanzarote’s midfield was far superior than the Gran Canarian side but no side has ever won a match by 0-1 at halftime.

Telde improved dramatically in the second half and when they levelled early on, they smelt blood and went in for the kill. Lanzarote couldn’t respond and then in the 80th minute Telde scored the winner to take them off the bottom of the table for the first time this season whilst Lanzarote had another Déjà vu away day.

Next Sunday 8th March at 11am Lanzarote are at home versus derby rivals CD U.S.Yaiza. Both teams are in shocking form and will both be desperate to win. For Yaiza to help them fight relegation and for Lanzarote to restore some pride.
