LANZAROTE AWAY IN GRAN CANARIA THIS SATURDAY (22nd) at 11am
The Rojillos will travel to Gran Canaria this Saturday 22nd November for their 12th match of the season and play Arucas CF at 11am.
The Las Palmas side were highly regarded to be one of the sides fighting for at least a playoff position but currently they are sitting in 13th spot and are only one point clear of the relegation positions.
Lanzarote will not be taking this game lightly as their opponents recently beat league leaders CD Átletico Paso 1-0 and have the third best defence in the league. Their huge problem is in front of goal, they haven’t scored more than once in any match and in total have scored a measly five goals in their 11 matches played.
It’s fairly simple for Lanzarote and that is if they have aspirations of promotion this season they must improve on their away form. The Rojillos have picked up just one win in five outings on their travels although that was against the league leaders but it is still not good enough to claim that one automatic promotion spot.
The match of the weekend is undoubtedly the La Palma derby which sees CD Átletico Paso take on third placed side CD Mensajero on the Sunday. Lanzarote have no control over that match but a Rojillo win on Saturday will see them go top of the table, at least for 24 hours.
