CD SAN MIGUEL   1   LANZAROTE   1

The Rojillos earn their first draw of the season away in Tenerife which briefly extends their lead at the top of the table to two points.

The home side opened the scoring in the 10th minute on a counterattack. Rojillos keeper produced an excellent save but the ball bounced up and was headed home to give San Miguel a 1-0 lead.

Lanzarote began playing some good football and were dominating midfield. A defence splitting through ball by Pablo in the 28th minute set up Yeray Tavio but the youngster’s first touch took him slightly wide nevertheless he got his strike away but he saw it agonizingly go wide of the far post.

Ten minutes into the second half and a rash tackle on Pablo just inside the 18 yard box earned Lanzarote a penalty. Moha stepped up and planted the ball into the right hand corner to score his first goal for his new club and send Lanzarote level at 1-1.

Both teams tried to snatch the victory with the best effort coming from Rojillos Isaac in the 86th minute but his strike from the edge of the area hit the crossbar.

The match ended fairly in a stalemate and Lanzarote will remain in top spot for today though tomorrow several teams do have the opportunity to leapfrog them but none of those sides have an easy match.

Next Sunday 19th October at 11am Lanzarote are at home in Arrecife versus UD Telde.
