SAN GINÉS TOURNAMENT (Semi Final)
Lanzarote 1 UD S.S.Reyes 1 (Lanzarote win 4-3 on penalties)
The new look Rojillos progress to Friday’s 8pm final after beating the Madrid side from the division above.
The game had a good tempo from the opening whistle and even though the score remained goalless at the break there had been good opportunities for both sides.
Three minutes into the second period and Moha capitalized on poor defending robbing the centre back then blasting the ball past the Sanse keeper to put the Rojillos 1-0 up.

Lanzarote´s number 9 Moha giving Lanzarote the lead.
Lanzarote pushed for the second but the visitors leveled in the 89th minute and the winners would be decided by penalty kicks.
Rojillos keeper Ruyman as he has been on so many occasions was a rock in goal and saved two penalties.
This led to Lanzarote winger Nadjib who had a superb second half to score the final penalty and send Lanzarote into Friday’s final which will be between the winners of CD Tenerife B or Xerez CD who both play in the league above Lanzarote.

Arrecife Sports councilor Eli Merino alongside Parks and Gardens councilor Roberto Hernández showing great support for UD Lanzarote.
Despite the free entrance only 300 fans were there to witness the semi final but very few left disappointed. I would imagine many more will take advantage of the free entrance to Friday’s final.
It really was an excellent performance and new manager Ángel López will be delighted with his players and coaching staff but he is an experienced football man and knows this is just the beginning of a long hard season.
