UD LANZAROTE PRESENT THEIR NEW MANAGER
The presentation took place on Tuesday 22nd at the headquarters of one of the clubs premier sponsors Grupo CEPAL in Arrecife.
Club President Juan Carlos Albuixech and general manager César Saavedra both welcomed their new team manager Ángel López to the club and felt fortunate as well as delighted to have the 44 year old ex Spain international onboard for the 2025/26 campaign.

Also present were the islands Sports Minister Juan Monzón and an ex player that any long term Rojillo fan will never forget, Rosmen, who was representing the Arrecife Town Hall. Rojillo legend Rosmen and Ángel López have played together before and judging by the look of the two of them even approaching their mid 40s they looked as though they should be in the Rojillo squad for this season.

UD Lanzarote´s new coach Ángel López stated that it will be an extremely competitive season with several clubs in contention for promotion. The squad is made up of around 80-90% of local island players with the rest being made up from various countries so it’s now up to his technical team to produce a side ready to compete.
The new manager thanked the Rojillo fans with a special mention to the overseas supporters and pledged to build a team that can excite the largest supported club in this division.

Our raffle ladies and general helpers Lorraine, Leigh and Jacci didnt comment on their thoughts of their new managers sports project but they do reckon that he is easy on the eye.
Grupo CEPAL owner Arturo Rivadeneira who is now beginning his third season as one of the club’s principal sponsors closed the presentation by welcoming the new mister to the club and stating how he and all at Grupo CEPAL are excited for the season ahead.
Lanzarote’s new coach will begin work with his squad this Monday July 28th at 6.30pm back at our home Ciudad Deportiva in Arrecife. All are welcome to attend and see the first training session.
