LANZAROTE ARE AT HOME (in Tías) THIS THURSDAY (17th April) AT 12 NOON
Lanzarote will be playing at their temporary home in Tías this Thursday 17th April at 12 noon versus Gran Canarian side Arucas CF. Doors open at 11am. Pay at the gate. The Rojillos chances of qualifying for the playoffs are slim though still not impossible as they trail CD Mensajero in the final playoff position by five points with only four matches remaining.
Lanzarote´s next two matches are both at home starting this Thursday and to have any hope of ending the season on a high they must win both matches. CD Mensajero have a very difficult game this Thursday when they host UD San Fernando that are second and are chasing down three points to the stuttering league leaders UD Las Palmas Atl for that only guaranteed promotion position.
On the 4th May Lanzarote will travel to La Palma to play CD Mensajero. The Rojillos would of course need to win that match and should they finish level on points then Lanzarote would go above Mensajero into fifth not because of goal difference but because of how the teams faired against each other in the season. Lanzarote won the home fixture 2-0..
There are many ifs and buts though there is still hope and a win on Thursday could possibly reignite the flame. Unfortunately our resident photographer cannot make this match. Are there any photographers out there that would like to take on the role this Thursday?
