The Rojillos pulled off a convincing win with two goals from striker Iván Hujo and a goal apiece from Javi Mayor and Ale Fuentes.
A minutes silence was held prior to kick off for the unexpected passing of the Sports head of Yaiza Town Hall Guayo Rodríguez. The 50 year old suffered a heart attack in the early hours of Sunday morning and leaves behind a wife and his two children.
It was a straight forward victory against a side that are mathematically relegated today.
Playoff rivals CD Mensajero were 2-2 with just a few minutes remaining and had that remained the score Lanzarote would have moved up to 5th and into the final playoff position. The game is never over until the ref blows that final whistle and of course the La Palma side found the 3-2 winner.
Next Sunday Lanzarote travel to Gran Canaria and face UD San Fernando who are chasing second spot and Copa Del Rey qualification. The Rojillos next home match has been confirmed for Thursday 17th April at 12 noon. This will probably be in Tías but I will confirm asap.
