Lanzarote will be playing at their temporary home in Tías this Sunday 23rd March at 12 noon versus 12th placed side CD Arcángel San Miguel. Doors open at 11am. Pay at the gate. The Tenerife side were promoted last season and in their debut year they are doing reasonably well sitting in 12th spot and six points above the relegation positions. Two more wins in their remaining eight matches should see them remain in the RFEF 3 (Fifth Tier) next season.
Lanzarote are in sixth spot, one point away from the last playoff position but their recent form has been poor to erratic. Last week they were well beaten 2-0 to playoff rivals UD Ibarra, a side bang in form and full of confidence.
There is absolutely no doubt that Lanzarote have the quality in their squad to earn a playoff spot but as every Rojillo supporter will tell you they are far from favourites to do so, with their fellow playoff contenders in such good form.
These two main rivals are UD Ibarra in 4th and CD Mensajero in 5th and they will meet each other this weekend so if Lanzarote win all three points they will gain on at least one, if not two of their main rivals.
Our last home match the fans were excellent and cheered the side to a 3-0 victory and again this support is needed. We are in that final run in and are in with a good shout of reaching the playoffs so with the help of a packed Tías stadium encouraging their team this can be the difference between a point or three.
