JAVI MAYOR RECOVERY, DORTA LEAVES THE CLUB, ALEJANDRO IMPROVING
Javi Mayor
One of the Rojillos summer signings was a then 21 year old centre back Javi Mayor. The young defender proved to be a huge success that seemed to have the ability to read a game with the maturity of a seasoned player.
The youngster instantly became a regular in the starting line up alongside veteran Raúl and were amongst the most feared defensive partnerships in the league.
On the 6th December in a 3-2 away win in Las Palmas Javi challenged for a ball and landed badly fracturing his ankle. It was obvious that he had done some serious damage and it seemed that his season was over.
After a successful rehabilitation Javi is back in full training and the medical staff have given him the green light to start playing again. It is not certain when the polished defender now 22 years of age will return but it is likely to be in the coming weeks. This is a real bonus for everyone involved with the club as we head into the final nine matches of the season and the fight for a playoff finish.
Adrián Dorta
Right back Adrián Dorta has decided to leave the club and will spend the remainder of the season with CD Tahiche in the Regional Preferente, one league below UD Lanzarote.

Adrián Dorta
The 21 year old has bags of ability but has been frustrated with his lack of playing time. Patience is a huge part of young player’s development but he is wise enough to know that he also needs match fitness.
The local lad will drop a division and will almost certainly be a starter for CD Tahiche as they try and improve on their two point cushion from the relegation positions. The youngster has a point to prove and I am sure that this won’t be the last we see of this talented wing back.
Alejandro Martín
Goalkeeper Alejandro has improved leaps and bounds from the training ground injury he suffered last November. Alejandro underwent surgery on his left knee for damage to his cartilage and ligaments though it wasn’t as bad as was first feared.

Alejandro on the mend.
The 34 year old captain has upped his training program and is expected to get back in between the sticks shortly, though it will still be a while before he can play a competitive match.
