The Rojillos bad run finally ends with a comprehensive win, and with results going their way they are back up to 5th spot and in the playoff positions.
It wasn’t easy for both sides as a blustery wind made it difficult for straight forward passing.
The Rojillos dominated the first half and had two very good chances to take the lead with Machín and Fuentes inches away.
Sun, wind and rain greeted the 600 or so crowd.
A strike in the 36th minute by Fuentes hit the crossbar and first to react was striker Iván Hujo who nodded the ball home.
A couple of minutes later and a trip on Machín was rewarded with a penalty kick. The same player stepped up and rifled his strike into the top left corner for a 2-0 halftime lead.
The Rojillos once again dominated the second half but a goal for the La Palma side would have changed the whole complexion of the match and with 20 minutes to go they struck the crossbar.
Late on a weaving run from winger Nadjib ended with a class finish from the edge of the box to give his side a 3-0 win.
Next Saturday 15th March Lanzarote meet 4th placed side UD Ibarra in Tenerife at 12 noon.
