The Gran Canarian opposition are bang in form taking 22 points out of a possible 24 in their last eight outings. With 12 matches remaining they trail league leaders UD Las Palmas B (Atlético) by seven points and have an eight point luxury gap for finishing in a playoff position.
Lanzarote are sitting in fourth spot and in their last eight matches they have only taken 11 points and are six points adrift of Sunday’s rivals and are a million miles away from the league leaders.
The Rojillos need to get back on track and quickly as they now only have a two point comfort zone remaining in the playoff positions with three other teams all within touching distance of that fifth and final playoff spot.
Winning the league and gaining that only automatic promotion spot is now unrealistic so the Rojillos must fight for second spot. Not only would that give them home advantage on a second leg but should Las Palmas reserve team win the league they would not be able to compete in next seasons Copa Del Rey as their first team are already in the competition.
This would mean as happened last year when CD Tenerife B were champions that the second placed team which was Lanzarote claimed that precious Copa Del Rey position.
Tickets for the match can be paid for on the gate and it is advisable to get there just after the doors open at 11am. We also sell match tickets at our shop in Costa Teguise at CC Nautical, Local 25. Open Monday to Friday 10am to 1pm and also every Wednesday 5-7pm https://maps.google.com/?q=28.997751,-13.492223
