Lanzarote are playing at their temporary home in Tías this Sunday 22nd December at 12.30pm versus 9th placed side CD Mensajero. Doors open at 11.30am. Pay on the door. https://mercancialanzarote.com/directions/

CD Mensajero were one of the favourites to at least claim a playoff spot come May, however a poor start to the season left them near the bottom but four wins and two draws in their last six matches has put them back in the mix.

The La Palma side are exactly in mid table and now trail that final playoff position of fifth place by five points and are a further two points off fourth placed Lanzarote.

The Rojillos manager Juan Carlos Socorro was furious with his sides lack of concentration last Saturday after dominating the match and then letting a 0-2 lead slip in the 75th minute ending in a 2-3 defeat.

There is no doubt that he will not accept this type of complacency again and he will be looking for a positive response from his players this Sunday.

Match tickets can be bought on the gate match day but to avoid any queue they can also be purchased at our shop in Costa Teguise (details below). Adults 10 Euros, Pensioners 8 Euros, Children 15 years and under free of charge, discount for residents with I.D.

This Sunday the club is supporting the charity “La Vida es Zuania “(Life is Beautiful) in the campaign that no child should be without a toy this Christmas.

We are asking our supporters if they could bring along a present (unwrapped) for a child that otherwise would go without, e.g. a ball, doll, jigsaw, teddy etc. If this is difficult to obtain the charity would be equally delighted to receive sanitary products, nappies, deodorants, toothbrushes etc for adults and children.

Lorraine and a member of the charity will be inside the stadium as you enter to gratefully receive any items. The toys will be given to the children for Spanish Christmas (Reyes) on the 6th January.

Alternatively items can be brought into our shop in Costa Teguise at CC Nautical, Local 25, Monday to Friday 10am to 1pm and also Wednesdays 5-7pm. In the Old Town in PDC small items can be handed into David at The Irish Harbour Bar or Brendan at Dicey Riley’s any evening.
