THE SAN GÍNES TOURNAMENT 15-17th AUGUST AT THE STADIUM IN ALTAVISTA
The San Gínes tournament is generally recognized as the premier preseason football tournament on the island.
This year the tournament will take place in Arrecife at the Agapito Reyes Viera stadium in Altavista due to renovations taking place at our home stadium Ciudad Deportiva.
There are four teams competing CD Tenerife B, San Bartolomé CF, U.S. Yaiza and UD Lanzarote.
THE SCHEDULE
Thursday 15th August San Bartolomé CF v U.S. Yaiza at 7pm
Friday 16th August UD Lanzarote v CD Tenerife B at 7pm
Saturday 17th August at 7pm The Gran Final
(there is no final for third position)
The Altavista football stadium is not easy to get to on local transport though from Costa Teguise its around 12-15 euros in a taxi and from PDC around 25 euros or get the number 3 bus to the central bus station in Arrecife (estacion de guaguas) and hop in a taxi for around 5-6 euros. If you are coming from Playa Blanca please ask your reception or at the bus station. If you come by car, parking is easily available nearby but don’t park opposite at the Spar supermarket as the gate is locked at 9pm.
Refreshments will be available inside the stadium and entrance is usually around 5 euros with children admitted free of charge.
