THE ROJILLOS RETURN TO TRAINING

UD Lanzarote returned to training yesterday evening at the Manuel Arocha García stadium at the far end of Puerto Del Carmen just past Montana Tropical. It does seem that the club will be using Puerto Del Carmen´s facilities for training for the foreseeable future whilst renovations are taking place at home in Ciudad Deportiva in Arrecife.

A stunning evening at the Puerto Del Carmen stadium.

Club President Juan Carlos Albuixech was first to greet the players and welcome them to a new season then handed over the reins to UD Lanzarote´s new manager Juan Carlos Socorro. The rest of the backroom and training staff remain the same from the end of last season.

There were plenty of regular faces amidst several youngsters from the B team that have been promoted to training with the first team and also several trialists. The players will once again be training there tonight at 7pm and again on Thursday but at the later time of 8.15pm.

This Friday 2nd August will be the first of the preparation games for the new season when Lanzarote play Yaiza juniors in the Juan Carlos Caceres tournament in Tinajo at 8.30pm. They will also make full use of their squad as they will also be playing the following evening (3rd Aug) at either 6pm or 9pm depending on Fridays result.

The fixtures should be released by the Federation in early August and the first match will be on either 7/8th September. Season tickets will be available soon but the club must first have confirmation from the Cabildo where they will begin the season and also when they can return home to Ciudad Deportiva.
