UD LANZAROTE UNVEIL THEIR NEW MANAGER

On Monday evening the 8th July the Rojillos introduced their new manager Juan Carlos Socorro for the forthcoming 2024/25 season.

UD Lanzarote President Juan Carlos Albuixech opened proceedings thanking the clubs sponsors Grupo Cepal for once again holding the press conference at their showrooms in Arrecife and also for their continued support both financially and cheering from the stand on match days.

The President explained that the Gran Canarian coach Juan Carlos Socorro was chosen because of his knowledge of the Tercera Division (fifth tier) and also the league above. He has great experience of being able to gel teams and achieve promotion.

The new Mister (gaffer) then spoke of his delight in taking over the reins of what he believes is one of the biggest clubs in the Canary Islands and is the envy of all teams in that division with their incredible fan base.

The 52 year old stated that he cannot guarantee promotion but he, his technical staff and all the players will give their all from the first moment.

He has been happy with all the current signings however he is still looking for two or three other players but is also aware of how well the B team and Junior sides performed last season and expects several to step up into the first team.

Juan Carlos Socorro will lead his team out for their first pre season training session on July 29th. The season will begin on the 7/8th September with fixtures normally released at the end of July.
