The Rojillos momentarily move up into second spot following a first half effort from striker Jorge Canillas and are two points behind leaders CD Tenerife B.

Incredibly deep into stoppage time the home side were awarded a penalty. Keeper Alejandro saved the spot kick to guarantee his side the full three points. What a hero!

The three other sides competing for the title and the only automatic promotion spot CD Tenerife B, UD Las Palmas B and U.S. Yaiza all play later today but Lanzarote have certainly put the pressure on those sides as we head into a dramatic finale to the season.

A first half strike from new striker Jorge Canillas was the difference between the sides as Lanzarote continue their good form and refuse to give up on automatic promotion.

Lanzarote had to fight to the finish after going down to 10 men in the 80th minute with the impressive Dani Febles seeing red after his second yellow card. Sub Santi Rosa came close to doubling his sides lead but his strike hit the post.

The Rojillos have done all that they can and with three matches remaining and they are still in with a shout.
